About the role
- Location: Bexley Primary, Secondary and SEND/AP schools and/or at our Music Centre (Belmont Academy, Belmont Rd, Erith, DA8 1LE)
- Status: Part-time, Permanent (variable hour contracts)
- Pay: Between £33.50ph and £36.00ph (+ holiday pay) depending on role
- Post Start Date: From June 2026 (TBC for Bank Staff)

About Bexley Music
Bexley Music, part of London South East Academies Trust (LSEAT), is the Music Service for the London Borough of Bexley and a Principal Partner in the South East London Music Hub (SELMH). It delivers music provision to thousands of children and adults each week, across schools and the Music Centre. The Centre offers individual and group lessons, ensemble participation, and concerts in local venues and abroad.
Your Opportunity
We are seeking versatile and committed music teachers to join Bexley Music at Belmont Academy. Courses include whole class tuition, instrumental and ensemble instruction, and teaching in SEND/AP settings. Immediate vacancies: Singing teacher and Piano teacher for one-to-one lessons at the Music Centre.
Other roles include:
- Individual and small group instrumental teaching
- Whole class instrumental/ensemble tuition
- Whole class music curriculum teaching
- Teaching in SEND settings and AP (music specialism)
Successful applicants will share the ethos of Bexley Music, valuing music opportunities for all and contributing to the South East London Music Hub.
We are looking for candidates who can:
- Share their passion for music and enthuse students
- Deliver outstanding curriculum lessons, instrumental lessons, and rehearsals
- Lead effectively and encourage student development
- Plan and organise lessons, rehearsals, and activities
- Adapt resources and teaching methods to the needs of students and groups
- Encourage perseverance and develop leadership skills among students
- Provide a varied and enjoyable range of activities to inspire extra-lesson practice
- Plan activities in line with the National Curriculum for Music (whole class tuition)
- Encourage participation in Bexley Music groups and ensembles
- Organise performances when suitable
- Liaise with schools, staff, and parents as required
- Complete necessary administration and student reports
- Attend meetings and training as needed
