We are hiring a Cook Supervisor! Are you passionate about catering and dedicated to making a positive difference for young people? We are looking for an enthusiastic, organized individual to lead our kitchen team, prepare delicious meals, and maintain top‑notch food standards.
Key Details
- Salary: From £11,701 pa actual (LSEAT Harmonised Scale 13 to 15)
- Hours: 20 hours per week (4 hours per day)
- Schedule: 39 weeks, Term‑Time Only (Enjoy your school holidays)
- Locations: East Sussex Academy sites (Newhaven, Eastbourne, Hastings)
- Responsible to: Headteacher / Deputy Headteacher
What You’ll Do
- Order, prepare, cook, and serve high‑quality food to Trust standards
- Supervise, guide, and train your kitchen team
- Manage stock control, food rotation, and minimise wastage
- Complete daily temperature records, monitoring, and cleaning schedules
- Act as a positive, welcoming brand ambassador for the school
Who We’re Looking For
- A team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Someone with an NVQ Level 1 or 2 qualification (and working towards Level 3)
- Knowledge of COSHH, PPE, and food handling safety practices
- A patient, resilient, and dedicated professional who enjoys working in a school environment
- A satisfactory Enhanced DBS and Barred List check are essential for this safeguarding‑regulated role
