About Bexley Music
Bexley Music is the lead organisation for the Bexley Music Education Hub and the official music provider in Bexley. It delivers music provision to thousands of children and adults every week, in Bexley schools during the day and at Belmont Academy on weekday evenings and all-day Saturday. The provision at the Music Centre consists of individual and group lessons in all instruments and singing, and opportunities for playing in a band, orchestra or choir. Concerts are a regular part of the provision, taking place locally in churches and schools in the borough and further afield.
Your Opportunity
We have a great opportunity for a committed, highly flexible and motivated Music Centre Premises Assistant, based in Belmont Academy. The role will involve reception, admin, cleaning, and driving duties. The individual will be the key holder for the music centre, opening and closing the building, ensuring the building is secure at all times. On reception they will represent the face of Bexley Music, greeting stakeholders in a welcoming manner and undertaking admin duties to support the daily admin team. They will also clean and maintain music rooms, move instruments and equipment, and drive the Bexley Music van to transport instruments for concerts and lessons across the borough when appropriate. Excellent communication skills, flexibility and adaptability are essential.
Responsibilities
- Be the key holder for the music centre, opening and closing the building.
- Represent the face of Bexley Music at reception, greeting stakeholders.
- Perform admin duties to support the daily admin team.
- Clean, maintain and set up music rooms, moving instruments and equipment.
- Drive the Bexley Music van to transport instruments for concerts and lessons across the borough.
- Ensure the building is secure at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience in reception, admin or a similar role.
- Experience as a key holder or responsibility for building security.
- Excellent communication skills and flexibility.
- Must meet the English language requirement for effective performance of the role.
- Pass enhanced DBS checks and relevant safeguarding checks.
