London South Bank University and LSBU Group transforms lives, communities, businesses and society through high quality professional and technical education and insight. We were established over 130 years ago with a mission to effect social mobility for the people of south London by improving their employment opportunities and providing access to the applied knowledge that would advance their businesses. Other than an increasingly national and global reach, that mission remains almost unchanged and today we are an innovative, dynamic and forward-thinking institution committed to providing high-quality education and real-world skills to over 31,000 students.
Our distinctive Group structure has delivered a decade of innovation and transformation, and comprises South Bank Academies, South Bank Colleges, South Bank Enterprises and London South Bank University. The Group works to one vision and seeks to deliver a holistic solution to the educational needs of communities and business both locally and globally.
We are now seeking to appoint our next Vice-Chancellor & CEO, an exceptional leader to continue to build on the University and Group’s many achievements, developing and delivering a vision for the Group over the coming period, and enhancing its position at a time of significant change in higher education in the UK and around the world.
The role of Vice-Chancellor & CEO requires an exceptional combination of executive leadership experience, strategic vision, and in an increasingly demanding financial environment for education providers, commercial and financial acumen, and the ability to inspire innovative thinking and action. The successful candidate will bring well evidenced leadership experience, clarity of strategic purpose and highly developed communication and influencing skills, to provide inspiration and direction across the Group.
Passionate about the education and skills agenda, values-driven and with a record of building excellent relationships, they will motivate and engage our staff and students, and extend our reach, impact and reputation. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a progressive and ambitious University and Group whilst ensuring its future position at a time of change in higher education and exploring new possibilities to strengthen further our student experience and all-round academic excellence.
If you have the experience, skills and track record of success we are looking for, and share our drive and ambition, we would be delighted to hear from you. Applications are invited by close of business on March 31st 2025. LSBU is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion and would welcome applicants from all backgrounds and communities.
