Turning Passion into Purpose. London South Bank University is excited to be recruiting for the post of Student Engagement Advisor to join the Student Operations team. This department provides central support for students throughout their time at the University from admission through to graduation and to manage and develop a range of operations and systems.

The role focuses on managing student caseloads to support retention and re-engagement, contributing to attendance monitoring and the extenuating circumstances process. The postholder will work closely with academic staff to support at-risk students through timely interventions and identifying barriers to success.

About You

We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • Enthusiastic, pro-active individual to become part of the team, based at the Southwark Campus.
  • Strong customer-focused and professional approach for the student facing nature of this team.
  • Practical administration experience and used to working to support students both face-to-face and online.
  • Experience in managing a student caseload.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills, meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and maintain accurate records, meet strict deadlines and perform effectively under pressure.

The ideal candidate will be degree-educated, highly motivated, and have a solid understanding of student engagement in UK and international higher education. Experience with student support services, engagement systems, and relevant policies—particularly around data, compliance, and ethics—is highly desirable.
