We are seeking a highly organised individual with strong interpersonal skills, to join our team as a Research Associate (RA) within the School of the Built Environment and Architecture at London South Bank University.
About you:
Working as part of the Centre for Civil and Building Services Engineering (CCiBSE), as the Research Associate you will be working on a recently funded Innovate UK (IUK) project on hydrogen storage and energy systems. The project involves a number of industry partners, and the objective is to design, develop and demonstrate an innovative hydrogen storage and energy system that can operate effectively at different operating conditions.
You will be responsible for the detailed design of the test facilities required for the project, calibration and installation of instrumentation and data logging systems, experimental investigation, and the development of system thermodynamic models.
The skills and experience you will need to be successful:
- A background in energy or mechanical engineering
- Good knowledge and understanding of industrial waste heat
- Heat exchangers
- Thermodynamic cycles
- Heat and mass transfer
- Instrumentation
- Monitoring and analysis of complex processes
- Experience in thermodynamic modelling
