An opportunity has arisen for the appointment of a part-time, fixed term (1 Year) Lecturer in Midwifery (Maternity Cover) at London South Bank University. The successful candidate will join an excellent, diverse, dynamic and hardworking midwifery team to provide high quality Midwifery education.

Ideally, applications will demonstrate a track record in midwifery and practice education; however, we are prepared to support the right candidate to achieve this whilst working at LSBU. The successful candidate will support the Deputy Head of School and Lead Midwife for Education (LME) in the delivery of midwifery education and research within the midwifery division. We are therefore seeking to recruit an experienced midwife to take up this post. The successful candidate will join a diverse team committed to enhancing the healthcare workforce in partnership with providers across London, Essex and the South East with the aim of transforming midwifery services for the benefit of women and their families.

About You:

  • NMC registrant as a Midwife.
  • Degree plus preferably PGCE or Masters relevant experience would be desirable.
  • Experience of working with a broad range of Midwifery experience.
  • Experienced at organising and facilitating workshops/events.
  • Experience of teaching NIPE (highly desirable).
  • Medicine management and additional care needs, PMA experience highly desirable.
  • Current working midwifery knowledge and insight into national and local guidelines.

The ideal candidate will be degree educated, be highly motivated and bring a thorough understanding of Midwifery in the UK and internationally. Should have a passion for teaching and enhancing Midwifery education and supporting the current workforce.
