The Role

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and ambitious Law School where excellent teaching, impactful research, and student success are at the heart of what we do. You’ll have the opportunity to shape curriculum development, contribute to a vibrant academic community, and help prepare the next generation of legal professionals.

We are seeking talented and ambitious legal scholars and educators to join our growing academic community. We welcome applications from candidates with the expertise and enthusiasm to contribute across our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.

While we are particularly interested in strengthening our provision in Land Law and Commercial/Company Law, we are equally keen to hear from applicants who bring a broad and complementary range of legal knowledge, professional experience, and academic interests.

We are especially interested in colleagues who are passionate about innovative, inclusive, and student‑centred approaches to legal education, and who are excited by the opportunity to shape the future of legal learning in a modern university environment.

• Design and deliver outstanding learning experiences that inspire students and contribute to excellent outcomes and a positive student experience.
• Demonstrate an emerging national profile within their discipline through high‑quality outputs, successful collaborations, external engagement, funding activity, and other indicators of academic esteem.
• Contribute effectively to the administration, development, and ongoing success of our Law programmes.
• Embrace innovative teaching methods and inclusive practices that support diverse learners to achieve their potential.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance teaching, scholarship, and the student experience.

This post is offered on a full‑time permanent basis to candidates who meet the Research Excellence Framework (REF) criteria at the time of appointment. Applicants who do not currently meet the REF criteria may be offered a fixed‑term appointment.

We welcome applications from candidates whose research demonstrates societal impact, and where there is evidence of knowledge exchange, business or community engagement, and national and international collaboration. Experience of doctoral level supervision would also be an advantage.
