The role
London South Bank University is recruiting for a Lecturer in Analytical Chemistry. The role holder will contribute to teaching, assessment, curriculum development, student support and scholarly activity in the Pharmaceutical Science and Forensic Science subject areas, while helping to strengthen research and industry engagement within the Biomedical Science Research Group. The post also offers the opportunity to participate in outreach, widening participation and collaborative activities with external partners and the pharmaceutical industry.
About You
- Will hold a PhD in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Analysis, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science, Applied Analytical Science or a closely related discipline.
- Will have strong theoretical and practical expertise in analytical chemistry, including experience with relevant laboratory and analytical techniques.
- Will have experience of teaching and supporting students in higher education or demonstrate clear potential to contribute to high‑quality undergraduate teaching.
- Will be enthusiastic about delivering an inclusive and engaging student experience and committed to continuing professional and scholarly development.
Successful candidate profile
A motivated and collaborative academic with a passion for analytical chemistry and pharmaceutical/forensic science education. They will contribute to teaching across undergraduate modules, supervise student research projects and support curriculum innovation aligned with current scientific and industry developments. They will demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, a commitment to student success and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams. Candidates with research interests aligned to Pharmaceutical Science or Biomedical Science, and those with experience engaging with the pharmaceutical industry or external partners, are particularly encouraged to apply. The postholder will be expected to actively contribute to the academic community at LSBU through teaching excellence, scholarly activity, research development and participation in outreach and recruitment initiatives.
