The role is a senior leadership position within the Strategy, Planning and Performance (SPP) team responsible for steering the delivery of the Group’s 2030 Connecting Strategy. Lead the University’s approach to planning, performance insight, regulatory reporting and risk management. Embed an insight‑led culture across the Group, ensuring leaders have access to high‑quality analysis and evidence to support decision‑making, drive improvement and deliver strategic priorities. Manage a team of planning, business intelligence and performance professionals and oversee the development of performance frameworks, KPIs, dashboards and management information. Coordinate the Group’s business planning cycle, translating strategic objectives into meaningful plans and measurable outcomes across Academic Colleges and Professional Services. Handle regulatory reporting, league table analysis, Graduate Outcomes, National Student Survey performance, risk management processes and Board‑level reporting. Partner with senior leaders to identify performance trends, conduct deep‑dive analysis and provide actionable insights that support continuous improvement and institutional success.

About You

Experienced professional in planning, performance and/or business intelligence with a strong track record of using data and insight for organisational decision‑making and strategic planning. Proven ability to translate complex data into clear, compelling narratives and influence positive change at the institutional level. Excellent analytical and leadership skills, including managing high‑performing teams and delivering complex projects in fast‑paced environments. Confident in working with management information systems and data visualisation tools such as Power BI. Strong understanding of performance measurement, reporting and continuous improvement methodologies. Experience in higher education planning, regulatory reporting and the challenges and opportunities of the sector is highly desirable. Skilled at building trusted relationships, fostering collaboration across organisational boundaries and developing a culture where data is accessible, trusted and actively used to improve performance.
