The role

This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to provide specialist technical support to staff and students undertaking a diverse programme of scientific investigations. The post holder will be providing expert advice in relation to instrument choice and methodology for samples in Forensic science, pharmaceutical science and other disciplines. You will work closely with colleagues to maintain and develop the currency of the laboratories introducing industry type processes where relevant.

What You Will Bring

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant Science based discipline.
  • Experience in providing technical support in a HE or relevant professional environment.
  • Practical working knowledge of analytical methods including GC mass spectroscopy, HPLC, microscopy as well as the ability to troubleshoot associated equipment.
  • Relevant health and safety knowledge and communication skills.
