The role
London South Bank University is excited to recruit an Executive Lead for Practice Placement to be responsible for furthering the strategic and operational growth of practice placements across the College of Health and Life Sciences. The position offers an opportunity to provide inspirational leadership for growth, innovation and added value within our current and future practice placement portfolio. Successfully growing LSBU’s network of key stakeholders, practice providers and collaborators will be a vital component of this role. As such, the position offers the successful candidate an opportunity to work strategically and collaboratively across university, region and wider UK to increase our capacity of quality practice placements within statutory, private, independent and voluntary sectors. Leading innovation within our delivery of practice placement learning will also be an important component of the role.
The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge of the health, social care and life sciences sector, including PSRB requirements, with excellent communication skills and extensive and relevant professional networks. The successful candidate will report to the Executive Dean and sit on the College’s Executive group.
About You
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:
- Current registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC, HCPC, SWE, GCC, BaSRAT or equivalent).
- Significant experience of practice learning and placements within health, social care or related disciplines, ideally within a higher education context.
- Experience of delivering complex programmes or projects, including planning, coordination and delivery.
- Excellent leadership and management skills, including the ability to influence and matrix‑manage, operating across organisational boundaries.
The successful candidate will be degree‑educated and highly motivated, with a strong, up‑to‑date understanding of UK health and care policy, workforce planning, and sector priorities. They will demonstrate excellent strategic and critical thinking capabilities, together with highly developed communication, interpersonal, and ambassadorial skills to support effective partnership working.
