We are seeking a dedicated Lecturer in Engineering (x4 1FTE and x1 0.6FTE) with a passion for inspiring students and developing their technical expertise in engineering. The role involves designing engaging lessons, setting clear learning objectives, tracking student progress, providing constructive feedback, and creating an inclusive, hands-on classroom environment that connects theory with real-world application.

Responsibilities

  • Design engaging lessons and learning activities aligned to curriculum aims
  • Set clear, achievable learning objectives and assess progress
  • Provide constructive feedback to support student development
  • Create an inclusive, supportive classroom environment that encourages hands-on learning
  • Foster problem-solving, innovation, and real-world application of engineering concepts
  • Support learners to develop essential engineering skills across mechanical, electrical, civil, and manufacturing disciplines

Skills & Experience / Qualifications

  • A recognised Level 3 or Level 5 teaching qualification with subject specialism in Engineering
  • Experience of teaching Engineering effectively in a further education college or equivalent sector experience
  • Willingness to work flexibly to deliver a student-focused curriculum (including up to two evenings a week)
