This role is subject to a welcome payment of £2,500 (paid as £1,250 on appointment and £1,250 after successful completion of the probation period). The post holder will thereafter receive a retention payment of £3,000 per year for their first two years, rising to £4,000 per year after three years.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a high-performing multi-agency team, driving effective decision-making and ensuring children and young people receive the right support at the right time. As MASH Team Manager, the post holder will provide leadership, management, and professional guidance to their team, promoting excellent social work practice and ensuring timely assessments, purposeful interventions, and effective safeguarding measures. Through one-to-one and group supervisions, the post holder will challenge and motivate the team to deliver outstanding services to vulnerable children, young people, and their families, whilst upholding high professional standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing multi-agency MASH team
  • Promoting excellent social work practice, including timely assessments and purposeful interventions
  • Providing high-quality, emotionally intelligent supervision and supporting staff development
  • Driving effective decision-making to ensure children and young people receive the right support at the right time
  • Preparing formal reports and driving practice improvements across the service

About you

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold a recognised social work qualification and current registration with Social Work England
  • Have extensive knowledge of childcare legislation, statutory guidance, and child development
  • Have proven experience in professional leadership, driving practice improvements, and preparing formal reports
  • Possess strong analytical and decision-making skills to evaluate complex information
  • Be committed to anti-discriminatory practice and addressing inequality
  • Be able to provide high-quality, emotionally intelligent supervision and support staff development
