Social Worker - Adolescent Early Support Team

Build Trust. Create Opportunities. Change Futures.

Lambeth Council is looking for two experienced and passionate Social Workers to join the Adolescent Early Support Team (AES) β€” an innovative new prevention and engagement service for young people aged 11–18, designed to intervene at the point of emerging risk and prevent escalation into crisis or statutory services.

The Adolescent Early Support Team is more than a new service. It is an opportunity to redesign how support is provided to young people at the point where timely intervention can make the greatest difference. Through assertive outreach, trusted relationships and adolescent-centred practice, the team supports young people to reconnect with education, strengthen family relationships and access positive pathways. The team's work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, strengths-based and rooted in contextual safeguarding principles. Some services may be offered out of hours and during weekends.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Building trusted relationships with young people and their families
  • Undertaking assessments and developing intervention plans
  • Delivering direct work addressing risk, resilience and wellbeing
  • Coordinating multi-agency support and promoting safety, inclusion and positive outcomes
  • Supporting young people experiencing family conflict, disengagement and emerging vulnerability

Why Join Us?

  • Helping to shape an innovative new service from the outset
  • Working within a research-led, adolescent-focused model
  • Delivering meaningful early intervention and prevention
  • Influencing system changes and improving outcomes for young people
  • Contributing to a service that aims to reduce harm, inequality and escalation into higher-level services
