Enfield are looking to recruit two experienced Education Child Protection Practitioners to join their newly formed Multi-Agency Child Protection Team (MACPT). This is a high-impact role at the interface of education and statutory safeguarding, providing authoritative education input to child protection decision-making and helping ensure the right response at the right time for children at risk of significant harm.
The post holders will be co-located with multi-agency partners including health, police, and children's social care, ensuring education safeguarding responsibilities are fulfilled in line with relevant statutory guidance. Accountable to the MACPT Service Managers and Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance, the practitioners will be directly line managed by the Assistant Headteacher of the Enfield Virtual School. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing consultation, advice, and guidance to education providers and other partners across the borough when a child comes to the attention of MACPT
- Liaising with senior education leaders and Designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure statutory duties are met and proportionate recognition is given to the additional protective factors that education provides
- Promoting effective partnership working through timely information sharing, appropriate professional challenge, and active engagement in child protection processes
- Strengthening partnership working between education settings and partner agencies including Children's Social Care
- Contributing to service developments within a leadership culture grounded in openness, learning, and shared responsibility
Enfield's vision is to establish a MACPT that is child-centred, compassionate, evidence-informed, and closely aligned with Family Help, Child in Care and Care Leavers Services, ensuring families experience a seamless safeguarding response rather than fragmented intervention. You will be joining a service that has high standards, values professional curiosity, collective accountability, and innovation, creating the conditions for everyone to do their best work to achieve positive outcomes for children and families.
Enfield's Centre of Excellence confirms their commitment to creating and maintaining an environment for new and existing staff to be the best, delivering excellent practice to achieve good outcomes for the most vulnerable children and young people. It brings recruitment, professional development, and support into one portal. For more information, please visit https://new.enfield.gov.uk/centreofexcellence/about-us/ .
