Base pay range
We are seeking to appoint an outstanding Technician to support our Film and TV specialist curriculum. The role will provide technical support to staff and students at LSA to enable optimum use of the technical facilities and ensure technical resources are maintained to a high standard.
There will be a training requirement as part of the role to enable continued development. The successful candidate will be pivotal in the successful building of inter-departmental relationships enabling the delivery of events to a very high standard. The role will also be responsible for issuing, collecting and monitoring use of technical equipment, using a kitstore booking system to minimise loss and damage. It would be useful if the role holder were able to conduct basic fault finding and repairs on technical equipment as well as having a good working knowledge of IT and AV systems.

Role Duties and Responsibilities
To provide support for student learning and academic teaching including:
- To be responsible for the management and maintenance of specialist studios, spaces and equipment.
- To always ensure Security and H&S standards are being met to for the safeguarding of students, staff and visitors.
- To offer technical advice and assistance on request by students and staff.
- Document processes, creation of checklists and call sheets for events and film shoots.
- To organise, manage and assist with the preparation of external and internal events and student exhibitions.
- Deliver and operate the available range of audiovisual (AV) and specialist equipment in teaching spaces, studios and specialist spaces as per the requirement of the daily working schedules.
- To ensure the security and supervision of the designated areas and the equipment contained within them.
- To undertake and maintain a record of RAMS necessary for the operation of the designated areas.
- To construct a schedule for the maintenance and repair of equipment within the defined areas and carry out routine work which is not covered by service contracts.
- Respond to calls for assistance from users in all venues who are experiencing problems with equipment operated by the Specialist Technical Services team.
- Ensure that media equipment in the teaching spaces, studios and specialist spaces is in good working order.
- To ensure designated areas are clear, tidy and remain a healthy and safe working environment at all times.
- To maintain adequate stock levels of consumables and tools in consultation with the budget holder, raise purchase orders in accordance with Finance Policies and Procedures, and take deliveries.
- Advise on the long term development of facilities and when appropriate remove or install equipment.
- At the discretion of the Line Manager complete such other duties as may reasonably be requested or required.
