Overview

Two part-time Theology and Counselling faculty posts at London School of Theology (LST): 2 posts x 0.4 FTE / 14 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Lecture, tutor, supervise and undertake professional and clinical oversight of level 4, 5 and 6 students, including setting and marking assessments and group-work facilitation.
  • Provide professional and clinical oversight of students in line with British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) accredited course standards.
  • Be theologically informed and able to teach to an advanced level across a range of subjects and modalities relevant to an integrated theology and counselling training programme; for these two posts, experience with integrative, Gestalt and CBT approaches is particularly sought.
  • Attend and contribute to administration associated with the post (e.g., Team, Programme and Academic Board meetings, Staff and Faculty Development Days).
  • Represent the department during online Open Events and professional body meetings (BACP and ACC) as required.
  • Report to the Programme Leader – Theology and Counselling.

Qualifications and requirements

  • Qualified and practising psychotherapist with accreditation with the BACP or equivalent professional body.
  • Ability to teach to an advanced level and be well informed theologically.
  • Specialist training and experience in integrative, Gestalt and CBT approaches to complement existing team specialisms.
  • Willing and able to undertake the administration associated with the post.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Occupational requirement for the postholders to be practising Christians in accordance with the Equality Act 2010: Part 1, Schedule 9; must sign annually LST’s Doctrinal Basis and maintain the Ethos Statement.

  • Two posts x 0.4 FTE / 14 hours per week.
