The User Services & Administration Officer role is a second-line support-based function under the IT division of Operations and Support. You will be working in liaison with the IT Helpdesk, which delivers first line-support, and you will also work in collaboration with third line support and other teams as necessary.
You will assist with maintaining, supporting and developing the IT user services that support the research and teaching in the school which includes:
o User account administration, including managing network accounts, shared folders, drives, and mailbox access and configuration.
o Printing and Reprographics services, including managing printer configurations, troubleshooting issues, and assisting users with onsite printing.
o Secure file servers: handling requests for access to project file data.
o Ad-hoc purchasing requests processing for software such as the Adobe Suite and AutoCAD.
You will be providing specialist IT support to different areas of the School, including laboratories, Refectory, Reception and Finance.
You will occasionally cover the IT Helpdesk when required, either on our front desk or via phone support, which may also involve training or supervising of new or existing team members on Helpdesk standards and practices.
o You should be educated to degree level, or equivalent, or substantial relevant experience
o An IT support specialist with experience working in an IT service desk environment, with a strong customer focus – demonstrating a thorough understanding of customer needs.
o Well-developed communication skills and ability to explain complex information in a simple and concise manner.
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1 FTE and permanent.
The salary will be on the Professional Services salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,182- £44,847 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
