Project and Role
TRACE (Tackling the Risks of Aflatoxins and Climate Effects on Child Health in Africa) is a multidisciplinary research project based in the Department of Infectious Disease Epidemiology and International Health (IDEIH). The project funded by the Wellcome Trust investigates how climate change influences aflatoxin contamination and the impact on child health in sub-Saharan Africa, integrating epidemiology, climate science, immunology to inform policies and interventions. We are seeking a Research Assistant to coordinate and implement research activities across collaborating institutions and study sites. The post-holder will play a key role supporting protocols, ensuring regulatory and ethical compliance, engaging with clinical, policy, and community stakeholders.

Requirements
Applicants must have a relevant first degree in the field of medicine, nursing or related field alongside relevant clinical training. Relevant analytical skills in epidemiological research, including experience managing or analysing research data is also essential. Further particulars are included in the job description.
Employment Details
The post is full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed-term until 30 April 2027, with the possibility of extension subject to funding. The post is funded by the Wellcome Trust and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,984 - £45,728 per annum (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary "Wellbeing Days". Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in Nairobi, Kenya with travel to The Gambia.
