The London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) is one of the world’s leading public health universities. The HR Officer will provide HR administrative and advisory support for the delivery of a high‑quality professional HR service to managers and staff across LSHTM, including administering LSHTM’s central HR operational processes. The responsibilities include:

  • Effective management and delivery of high‑volume recruitment and selection activity across your designated Faculty
  • Managing employment administration and overseeing contract administration, UKVI processes, and employment‑related correspondence with accuracy and efficiency
  • Providing expert guidance and advising managers and staff on recruitment best practice, UKVI/right to work requirements, family‑friendly policies, probation, and fixed‑term contracts

The post-holder will hold an undergraduate degree (or equivalent), a CIPD level 5 qualification, or equivalent significant HR professional experience. You will also have strong experience of managing high‑volume recruitment campaigns, providing proactive and responsive HR advice, and a detailed working knowledge of UK immigration regulations.

The role is full‑time 35 hours per week and permanent. This role will be primarily office based at Tavistock Place, London (minimum 2 days per week working from the office).

The salary will be on the LSHTM scale, Grade 5 in the range £39,984 - £45,728 per annum pro‑rata (inclusive of London weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro‑rata for part‑time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary “Wellbeing Days”. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
