We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Data Entry and Administrative Assistant to work in our busy Parasitology Reference Laboratory based within the Faculty of Infectious and Tropical Diseases at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). The postholder will support a small team that provides a highly specialised Malaria Reference Laboratory (MRL) service for the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA). The MRL offers both a confirmatory and surveillance service for cases of imported malaria into the UK.
They will support the Principal Biomedical Scientist with maintaining the UKHSA MRL database and compiling data for audit, case investigations and reports to other organisations, plus other administrative duties, as required.
The successful candidate will have a background of accurate clinical data entry abilities, solid communication skills and an excellent customer care focus. They will possess effective organisational and time management skills and show attention to detail and a systematic approach to their work.
The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and, once training is complete, will be required to work independently at times. The post is full‑time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and fixed term until 31 March 2027. The post is funded by the UK Health Security Agency and is available immediately.
The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 3 in the range £30,231- £33,925 per annum pro rata (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary Wellbeing Days. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London at LSHTM, Keppel Street.
