We are seeking an experienced On-Site Cleaning Manager to join our facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected institution and play a key role in maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage daily cleaning operations across both LSHTM sites
  • Lead, supervise, and support cleaning staff to ensure high performance and service standards
  • Maintain compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations
  • Monitor cleaning schedules, standards, and quality assurance processes
  • Manage supplies, equipment, and cleaning resources efficiently
  • Work collaboratively with internal departments and external contractors as required

Requirements

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English/Relevant work experience
  • IOSH Working Safety Qualification or similar Health & Safety qualification
  • Experience of working in higher education, or similar organisation
  • Experience in supervising/managing cleaning operatives, ensuring manning levels as per the budget requirements

Conditions and Benefits

The post is full time 40 hours per week, 1.0 FTE and permanent. The salary will be on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 3 with the starting salary of £16.65 per hour (inclusive of London Weighting). The post will be subject to the LSHTM terms and conditions of service. Annual leave entitlement is 30 working days per year, pro rata for part time staff. In addition to this there are discretionary 'Wellbeing Days'. Membership of the Pension Scheme is available. The post is based in London.
