LSHTM is recruiting an experienced Information Security Manager to work in the IT Services Division. The role reports directly to the CIO and is a member of the ITS Senior Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the security strategy and implement, deliver, track, and manage performance metrics to strengthen the institution’s information security.
  • Develop, update and implement Information Security policies and procedures for the institution.
  • Manage the SOC/MDR service and handle security incidents and their remediation.
  • Coordinate external and internal audits and ensure compliance with external frameworks and partner organisation requirements.
  • Build effective relationships with academic, professional, and technical staff and influence stakeholders to promote information security.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience in Information Security, ideally within higher education.
  • Professional security qualifications or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills, with a proven ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of IT security governance, incident response, and compliance frameworks.

Benefits

  • Full-time 35 hours per week, 1.0 FTE, permanent.
  • Salary on the LSHTM salary scale, Grade 7, £53,317 – £61,034 inclusive of London Weighting.
  • 30 working days annual leave per year plus discretionary “Wellbeing Days”.
  • Pension scheme membership.
  • Expectation of two days per week in the London office.
