The Research Development Team in the Research & Innovation Division provides exceptional support to research funding activity and ensures the quality of competitive applications against funders’ strategies. The Senior Research Development Manager will work closely with designated departments and research centres, providing expert support to academic staff in developing high quality research applications to a range of UK, European and international sponsors.
The SRDM will be responsible for supporting a number of designated departments and research centres with grant applications, contracts and research development, and to provide strategic support to promote and encourage research ideas and funding applications. The SRDM will influence and facilitate research and provide support for horizon-scanning, sharing funding intelligence, and creating a longer-term ‘strategic’ view of the development of research and funded research in particular.
The post-holder will monitor the external policy context and explore innovative research support approaches to provide insight to the team, Division and their academic units.
The candidates should have experience supporting research proposals and projects, understanding of emerging research funding priorities and trends, the ability to contribute to diverse teams to complete a common goal and excellent communications and liaison skills.
