Research Impact Manager
Salary from £42,679 to £51,000 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,730 pa inclusive of London allowance.

LSE Research and Innovation helps to develop and sustain an environment that makes LSE the best place in the world to do excellent and impactful social science research. We provide high quality support to LSE’s academics, students and alumni across all stages of the research lifecycle and ensure responsible research practice which complies with relevant regulations and operates with rigour and integrity.
The Research Impact Manager will work with the Senior Research Impact Manager and others in LSE’s Innovation & Impact team to proactively support the identification, generation, and optimisation of non-academic research impacts of any type, for any user or beneficiary, and via any appropriate pathway. They will support researchers, departments or centres and the School as a whole to plan for high-quality impact, and advise both on pathways to and monitoring, evaluating and evidencing impacts. This will include helping prepare impact-related components of LSE’s REF 2029 submission.
Candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent understanding of research impact and knowledge exchange and of pathways to impact, especially in the Social Sciences and Humanities. They must have experience of promoting best practice in, and producing guidelines and other materials relating to, research impact and knowledge exchange. The successful applicant will also be able to show experience of analysing and extracting salient points from complex data, including to provide advice and guidance to relevant colleagues and School committees.
The Research Impact Manager role is offered as a 12-month, fixed-term contract or 12-month secondment basis to cover the current role-holder’s secondment to another post. Although it is advertised as a full-time role, we are open to discussion about part-time and flexible working arrangements.

LSE is a campus-based university and staff are expected to attend the London campus in fulfilling their role. Most staff balance working from the campus or remotely and for this role we can offer flexible working patterns, and a blend of on-campus and remote working. We therefore encourage applications from applicants who can regularly travel to the London campus and operate in a hybrid working environment.
