Salary from £36,513 to £41,565 p.a. inclusive with potential to progress to £44,468 p.a. inclusive of London allowance

This is a fixed-term appointment for two years, with possibility of extension.

The Programme Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the Huth Initiative for a New Political Economy , a major new research programme at LSE that brings together leading academics to develop the ideas, policies and institutions for a fairer and more cohesive economic system. Working closely with the Programme Manager, the post holder will provide high-quality administrative, financial and logistical support across all areas of the programme’s work, including research, policy engagement and events. They will also serve as Executive Assistant to the Director (Sir Tim Besley), Executive Director (Dr Daniel Chandler) and Policy Director (Professor Richard Davies), supporting diary management, correspondence and meeting coordination. This is a varied and dynamic role, well suited to an organised, motivated and collegial individual who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and is excited by the mission of the Huth Initiative to shape a new political economy for the twenty-first century.

As part of a small and growing team, the post holder will have the opportunity to shape new ways of working and help build a major new Initiative from the ground up, requiring an entrepreneurial spirit and a flexible, hands‑on approach.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in administrative, financial or events support roles, ideally within a higher-education or research environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence dealing with senior academics and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision and as part of a small, collaborative team.
