Department of Geography and Environment

Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance. This is a career development position and is fixed term for two years. Start date of September 2026.

An LSE Fellowship is intended to be an entry route to an academic career and is deemed by the School to be a career development position. As such, applicants who have already been employed as an LSE Fellow for three years in total are not eligible to apply. If you have any queries about this please contact the HR Division.

The successful candidate will be expected to commit to working as part of a team to assist in the smooth running of the Department’s teaching programmes, particularly the MSc in Real Estate Economics and Finance, and support our online and (possibly) executive programmes, as well as maintaining their own research programme. They will also participate in the School and wider Department activities as well as carrying out administrative duties whilst fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Completed or close to completing a PhD in Economics, Economic Geography, Finance, Real Estate Finance (or a related discipline), by the post start date.
  • A very good knowledge of Real Estate Finance and Urban Economics.
  • A developing research record in Real Estate Economics/Finance, Urban Economics or Finance.
  • Relevant teaching and assessment experiences at undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
  • A commitment to work as part of a team in assisting the smooth running of the Department’s teaching programmes, particularly the MSc Real Estate Economics and Finance, online certificate programme, experiential learning activities (field trips), and (possibly) executive offerings.
