LSE Fellow in Economic Geography
This is a fixed term appointment for 24 months (planned start date – September 2025)
0.4FTE – 14 hours per week
Salary from £43,277 to £51,714 pa (pro-rata) inclusive with potential to progress to £55,497 pa inclusive of London allowance

The successful candidate will join one of the world\’s best-known economic geography, local economic development and innovation policy groups in a department which enjoys very strong international student demand across a wide range of graduate and undergraduate programmes.
The successful candidate will be expected to commit to working as part of a team to assist in the smooth running of the Department\’s teaching programmes, particularly the BSc in Geography with Economics and the MSc in Local Economic Development, and possibly support our executive/online programmes, as well as maintaining their own research programme. They will also participate in the School and wider Department activities as well as carrying out administrative duties whilst fostering an engaging and supportive learning environment.
Candidates should have a PhD in Economic Geography, Local Economic Development or a related discipline by the post start date or be close to completing it. In addition, candidates should have a very good knowledge of the field of Economic Geography, Local Economic Development and/or Innovation Policy and related fields.
Candidates should possess developing research record in the areas of Economic Geography, Innovation Policy and/or Local Economic Development. Relevant teaching experience, the ability to work in close partnership with fellow teachers and excellent communication and presentation skills are essential.
