Salary from £42,679 to £51,000 pa inclusive with potential to progress to £54,730 pa inclusive of London allowance.
This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years from September 2025.
The Department of Government, a large and vibrant academic unit within the LSE, is seeking to appoint two LSE Fellows (GV100). The post-holders will contribute to the Department’s teaching (undergraduate and postgraduate) and research activities in the discipline of Political Theory. The successful candidates will teach on GV100: Introduction to Political Theory, contribute to course administration and help prepare teaching materials, mark formative and summative work and support the learning and development of undergraduate students taking the course.
An LSE Fellow is a career development post which allows aspiring academics who are post-PhD, or close to PhD completion, the opportunity to gain experience in teaching and research. The post-holder will join LSE’s world-leading and vibrant research community in the social sciences.
Candidates should have completed or be close to completing a PhD in Political Theory or a closely related discipline by the post start date, September 2025. They will also have a developing research record in Political Theory, possess excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrating excellent teaching skills is desirable. Candidates should have a very good knowledge of and the ability to teach key concepts and debates within the discipline of Political Theory from a historical and/or contemporary perspective.
