Working pattern primarily: Monday to Friday 09:30 - 17:30 = 35 hours weekly (1.0 FTE). (40 hours weekly including 1‑hour unpaid break).
This is a fixed term appointment for 2 years with potential to extend subject to funding being available.
LSE is seeking to appoint a Compliance Manager to join its Sustainability Team, a specialist function within the Estates Division responsible for environmental strategy, regulatory compliance and performance improvement across LSE's central London campus.
The post holder will lead the development and continual improvement of LSE's integrated compliance management framework, spanning Environment, Energy, Quality and Health & Safety. Working closely with operational teams across Estates and Residences, they will build the systems, audit infrastructure and assurance processes that underpin LSE's statutory obligations and sustainability commitments.
The role requires a proactive and organised professional who is comfortable working across multiple regulatory domains and building compliance frameworks in complex, fast‑moving environments.
The post holder should have:
- Experience in environmental, health & safety, quality or integrated compliance management, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
- Knowledge of relevant UK legislation and regulatory frameworks across environmental, energy and/or H&S domains.
- Experience of managing ISO management systems (14001, 50001 and/or 9001), including audit planning, legal registers and non-conformance management.
- Strong systems thinking and the ability to design practical frameworks that operational colleagues can use and own.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diplomatically with a wide range of stakeholders and present compliance information clearly to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
