Assistant to CEP Directors and Centres Manager

Assistant to CEP Directors and Centres Manager at LSE’s Centre for Economic Performance.

We are looking for a well‑organised office administrator to assist the directors and the centre manager in a small, friendly administrative team. The role ensures the smooth operation of the Centre and related centres, serves as the first point of contact for internal and external queries, and provides high‑level administrative support to the senior management team while supporting a wide range of programmes and processes on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑level administrative support to the CEP senior management team.
  • Respond to internal and external queries and serve as the first point of contact.
  • Support a wide range of programmes and processes on a daily basis.
  • Use initiative to manage competing priorities and tasks.
  • Maintain accurate, high‑quality records and documentation, ensuring adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Previous administrative experience in a busy office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken English).
  • Confidence in dealing with enquiries in person and online.
  • Strong IT skills, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and proactively recognise and manage problems.

Benefits

  • Salary: £36,513 to £41,565 pa inclusive, with potential to progress to £44,468 pa inclusive of London allowance.
  • Funding available for the first 3 years.
