London School of Childcare Studies is looking for an experienced First Aid professional to join our growing First Aid & Mandatory Training team.
This is a hands-on operational and quality-focused role, working alongside our Business Development lead who is responsible for growing relationships with nurseries, schools and childcare organisations.
We are looking for someone who understands First Aid training from the delivery side and can help us build a high-quality, organised and scalable operation.
The role You will take responsibility for the operational development and quality of our First Aid provision, including:
- Recruiting, interviewing and onboarding First Aid trainers
- Reviewing trainer qualifications, experience and suitability
- Coordinating trainer availability and course delivery
- Monitoring trainer quality and learner feedback
- Ensuring trainers are using the correct and most up-to-date presentations, materials and resources
- Keeping up to date with relevant First Aid regulations, requirements and sector guidance
- Identifying any changes that may require us to update our courses, materials or delivery
- Supporting the organisation and delivery of group and corporate First Aid bookings
- Finding and assessing suitable new training venues and locations
- Monitoring course capacity and identifying courses or locations that need attention
- Working with the Business Development lead to ensure there is sufficient delivery capacity for new organisational bookings
- Working with the marketing team to provide accurate First Aid content and ideas
- Gathering learner and organisational feedback and testimonials
- Monitoring competitors and developments within the First Aid training market
- Helping us explore and develop additional mandatory training opportunities where appropriate
- Reviewing current operational processes and helping us streamline and improve how the First Aid desk works
- Creating clear processes so that trainer recruitment, course scheduling, venues, materials, feedback and quality monitoring are organised and easy to manage
About you You must
- Hold a recognised First Aid trainer/instructor qualification
- Have experience delivering First Aid training
- Have a strong understanding of current First Aid requirements and good practice
- Be confident assessing and interviewing other trainers
- Have excellent organisational and communication skills
- Be comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your area
- Be practical and solutions-focused
- Have good attention to detail, particularly around quality and compliance
Ideally, you will also have
- Experience coordinating First Aid courses or a training department
- Experience working with nurseries, schools, childcare organisations or education providers
- Experience recruiting or managing freelance trainers
- Experience improving or streamlining operational processes
- Experience developing training materials or reviewing course content
- Knowledge of other mandatory training requirements within education, childcare or early years
- Experience managing venues, schedules or multi-location training delivery
Working with the wider team This role will work closely with our Business Development lead.
The Business Development lead will focus on generating organisational business, building relationships and identifying what clients need.
You will focus on making sure LSCS has the trainers, locations, materials, quality systems and operational processes needed to deliver that business successfully.
Our existing administration team will continue to manage routine learner administration.
Hours Initially approximately
6 hours per week , with the potential for the role to grow as the First Aid and Mandatory Training division develops.
We would initially like to work together for a
90-day period , review progress and then discuss the longer-term structure and hours.

We are not simply looking for someone to coordinate a diary.
We want someone who can look at the whole First Aid operation, identify where things could work better, create clearer processes and help us build a professional, scalable and high-quality training service.
