Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Professional Qualifications Tutor to join LSBF on a maternity cover basis from June. The successful candidate will deliver and develop high‑quality, exam‑focused teaching and provide academic support across AAT Levels 2–4, ensuring students are well‑prepared for assessment success. Ideally, the tutor will also have experience in delivering or supporting ACCA modules, particularly Financial Accounting (FA), Financial Reporting (FR), and Strategic Business Reporting (SBR). This role requires a student‑centric approach, strong technical expertise, and the ability to engage learners both in the classroom and online, supporting their progression and achievement throughout their studies.
Key Activities & Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality, exam‑focused teaching across professional qualification programmes, using diverse and inclusive teaching methods.
- Regularly review and enhance content, structure, and assessment to ensure alignment with professional standards and evolving student needs.
- Use technology effectively, including virtual learning environments (VLEs), to create engaging and accessible learning experiences.
- Prepare and deliver both face‑to‑face and online sessions, ensuring high‑quality materials are available for students.
- Assess and provide constructive feedback on student work, including homework and mock exams, supporting their academic progression.
- Identify and respond to the needs of individual students, offering tailored academic and pastoral support.
- Proactively monitor and manage student attendance, engagement, and performance, ensuring compliance with LSBF policies and systems.
- Act as a mentor, coaching students on effective study practices and exam preparation.
- Collaborate with academic and administrative teams to ensure a cohesive approach to student learning and programme delivery.
- Share resources and best practices with colleagues, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
- Participate in projects related to content development, teaching enhancement, and new initiatives to meet organisational goals.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including attendance monitoring, examinations, student progress tracking, and reporting by working collaboratively with the Head of Learning, Quality and Operations and student support staff.
- Address issues that affect course delivery and escalate complex problems as needed, maintaining accountability for quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with institutional protocols and contribute to accreditation processes and reporting requirements.
- Support student recruitment efforts by participating in open days, webinars, blog authoring and other promotional activities.
- Engage in initiatives to improve student retention and satisfaction, contributing to LSBF’s reputation and sustainability.
- Commit to ongoing professional development, including achieving relevant teaching qualifications if not already held.
- Demonstrate adaptability by taking on evolving responsibilities, to align with organisational needs.
- Be prepared to maintain flexibility in working hours, recognising that most teaching currently takes place during evenings and weekends, with a readiness to adapt to scheduling needs as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management to meet evolving organisational needs.

Requirements for the role
- Professional qualifications relevant to the courses taught (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW).
- Teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, PGCHE).
- Fellowship of Advance HE (HEA) or equivalent.
