Fullstack Engineer (React/Python/AWS)

Job summary
We are looking for a motivated and outgoing Fullstack Software Engineer to join our team starting immediately! You will be a core part of our engineering team, driving the development of our web application and the backend supporting it, as well as deploying and maintaining infrastructure in AWS. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to work with exciting data and shape our client-facing API and data visualisations within a pioneering fintech startup.
You will be applying your skills cross-company on vital and impactful features, operating at every stage of the Software Development Lifecycle and working on serverless solutions using AWS. The role is on-site and you will be exposed to the business side of the organisation, as well as having an opportunity to get in front of clients and partners (quite a rare opportunity in the industry).
Key activities and responsibilities
- Maintain and develop our web application (React, TypeScript).
- Maintain and develop our backend infrastructure (AWS, CloudFormation).
- Design, implement and maintain databases and APIs.
- Monitor pipelines in production (and develop tools to facilitate that).
- Work collaboratively with other team members (Scrum).
Experience and qualifications
- Proficient with Python and React (TypeScript)
- Experience with Postgres
- Experience with setting up cloud infrastructure through infrastructure-as-code (AWS CloudFormation), especially anything serverless on AWS
- 3-5 years of professional experience within a team
- A strong self-starting attitude, you love a challenge!
- Great written and verbal communication skills
- Software development lifecycle best practices
- Agile principles, processes and tools
Nice to have:
- Experience of building and maintaining web applications from scratch
- SQL database design and management
- Knowledge of the financial markets would be an asset
