Senior Manager – London Growth Plan – LondonThe Growth Plan is London’s 10-year ambition for growth, and details actions to make it happen. Delivery of the Growth Plan is overseen by a Mission Board chaired jointly by the Greater London Authority (GLA) and London Councils. A Mission Lead will be appointed to drive the delivery of the London Growth Plan.
Their role is to convene and coordinate the public sector agencies to deliver the plan; and to build coalitions and partnerships for collective action between public and private sectors.This role sits within our Policy & Impact Team, a team that works with our wider business areas to deliver insights and thought leadership, to measure and communicate our impact, and to influence policy direction and implementation. Purpose of the role The CEO of L&P, as London’s growth agency, will play a key role in leading the delivery of the London Growth Plan. The Senior Manager – London Growth Plan will work directly with the CEO on pan-London growth actions. They will lead and deliver stakeholder communications for the London Growth Plan, act as programme manager, and support the CEO by managing operational stakeholder relationships.Key TasksProgramme Management Act as Programme Manager across all London Growth Plan delivery workstreams, coordinating activities and creating programme management tools. Build trusted working relationships across L&P, the GLA, London Councils and relevant delivery partners. Stakeholder CommunicationsLead stakeholder communications for the London Growth Plan – create content for use across a range of channels, and support the CEO where necessary with briefings and content for meetings.
Act as key point of contact for operational stakeholders on London Growth Plan. Work with colleagues across L&P to coordinate content creation and distribution. Stakeholder ManagementSupport the CEO to progress specific Growth Plan actions by building trusted relationships with operational stakeholders in businesses, universities, colleges, trade bodies and others (typically Heads of Public Affairs or similar). Coordinate stakeholder engagement with relevant teams within L&P (policy, partnerships, public affairs, sectors), the GLA and other partners. Research and AnalysisAs requested by the CEO, research specific topics and review new reports/publications to produce briefings or summaries are required. This could include desk research and conversations with expert stakeholders.Support for L&P CEO Coordinate with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to prioritise engagements and manage their time effectively. Work with the CEO’s Executive Assistant to produce briefings for all relevant engagements. As required, prepare presentations and talking points for CEO speaking engagements. You’ll have/bringThe successful candidate will demonstrate:An excellent track record in time and project management Experience managing a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in sensitive political environments Knowledge of the London growth ecosystem and political landscape Excellent communication skills with the ability to craft copy to suit a wide variety of audiences and tones of voice, combined with a sharp attention to detailExperience in cross-business working to achieve challenging goalsAbility to manage experienced and high performing workstream leadsKnowledge of CRMs (Salesforce) would be an advantage Skills & Competencies Excellent communication, written and presentation skills. Writes in a clear and engaging manner, with experience of writing for others and preparing others for speaking engagement. Able to manage and deliver projects and programmes of work with available resources measuring and monitoring performance throughout.
