Our Senior Manager, Funding & Investment supports scaleup growth by raising the profile of London & Partners and its clients within the investor community by building strong relationships and curating high-quality engagement opportunities which:

  • Develop and engage executive-level relationships within the funding and investment ecosystem.
  • Create opportunities for Founders to develop their knowledge and understanding of the funding and investment landscape, including business angel investment, venture capital, grants and debt financing.
  • Build platforms to enable Founders to develop credible relationships with funding organisations and investors.
  • Facilitate access to trusted support and advice from relevant experts and advisors.

Key Tasks

  • Shape, lead and execute L&P’s approach to investors and funding community engagement, ensuring alignment with the foreign direct investment and trade & growth clients’ needs.
  • Develop and implement a community investment strategy to grow a diverse and active investor network, enhancing our client’s access to funding opportunities, demonstrating London’s position as a leading global investment hub, tracking relationship depth and engagement outcomes.
  • Manage an in-depth knowledge database of investors in UK (including international investors that invest in UK companies) including specialist areas, investment focuses, cheque sizes and portfolio feedback to feed into the community’s team work and increase funding and investment knowledge within L&P.
  • Represent London & Partners at regular events, roundtables and ecosystem gatherings to build new relationships and strengthen London’s investment narrative in the investment ecosystem.
  • Develop an ongoing programme of engagement opportunities with investors. Where appropriate facilitate curated 1:1 introductions between relevant businesses and investors, tracking engagement outcomes and supporting fundraising journeys.
  • Work closely with sector colleagues (in matrix) to ensure our scaleup clients are well-prepared to approach investors and navigate funding processes.
  • Produce and publicise quarterly reports on investment trends within the ecosystem, contributing to L&P understanding of our investor community, to provide data and detail on what they want and need.

Events Programming

  • Lead the planning, content development, curation and delivery of quality funding investment focused events.
  • Ensure events are well attended, provide meaningful value, deliver positive satisfaction scores, and reflect our commitment to excellence.
  • Where appropriate host or facilitate these events.
  • Contribute to the development of existing processes and curation of new ideas to increase investors attendance and active participation at our annual scaleup summit, in line with the overall event strategy.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate the delivery of the London Tech Week investor proposition.
  • Support the partnerships team with the development and delivery of relevant content and events deliverables.
  • Manage and develop the Events Programme Manager.

You’ll have/bring

  • Strong understanding of the UK investment landscape, including venture capital, angel networks, corporate venture, grants and debt finance.
  • Demonstrable experience in investor relations, venture ecosystem engagement, or scaleup funding environment.
  • Experience in creating and executing strategies.
  • Experience curating and delivering high-quality events, roundtables or programmes addressing scaleup challenges.
  • A track record of collaborating with others to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to interpret market trends and present insights clearly.
  • Able to develop innovative ideas and solutions to plans, challenges and objectives through creative and strategic thinking.
  • Able to demonstrate resilience and adapts positively within the context of ambiguous and fast changing priorities and cultural agendas.
  • Able to manage and deliver projects and programmes of work with available resources measuring and monitoring performance throughout.
  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills, ability to lead by example.
  • Ability to effectively develop and implement work plans and ensure all tasks are delivered to the required standards.
  • Ability to achieve deadlines and targets, monitor performance of the matrix team and take corrective action where necessary.
