Purpose of Role
The Management Accountant will be responsible for delivering high-quality financial reporting, budgeting and analysis to support effective decision-making across London & Partners. This role will focus on core management accounting activities while supporting the Commercial Finance Business Partner with financial insight and business planning where required. The role is suited to a newly qualified accountant who is pragmatic, efficient, and a strong team player.

Key Tasks

  • Management Accounts & Reporting
    Prepare timely and accurate monthly management accounts, including:
    • Income & expenditure statements
    • Balance sheet (statement of financial position)
    • Clear supporting commentary

    Maintain and post accrual entries. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for relevant areas of responsibility. Produce monthly reports for budget holders and senior management.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting
    Support the preparation of annual budgets, including consolidation of directorate submissions. Support in maintaining and updating forecasts throughout the year.
  • Stakeholder Support
    Act as a key contact for budget holders, providing clear financial information and guidance.
  • Financial Control & Compliance
    Contribute to maintaining strong financial controls and adherence to procedures. Support procurement processes to ensure compliance. Assist in ensuring transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Statutory Accounts & Audit
    Assist in the preparation of statutory accounts, including:
    • Supporting schedules
    • Working papers
    • Selected disclosures
  • Continuous Improvement & Systems
    Support the improvement of financial reporting, forecasting and analysis processes. Assist with system improvements and reporting enhancements. Provide training and guidance to budget holders where required.
  • Other
    Contribute to ad hoc finance projects and analysis. Support wider finance team priorities as required.

You’ll have/bring

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting
  • Experience working in a medium or large organisation
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with finance systems
