Arden White have been exclusively retained by London Oxford Airport to appoint a high-calibre Business Development Manager, offering a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in the continued growth of one of the UK’s leading business aviation hubs. The Business Development Manager at London Oxford Airport is responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering sustainable commercial growth across aviation and non-aviation activities. The role focuses on expanding business aviation, general aviation, aircraft maintenance, training, and related commercial opportunities, while supporting the airport’s long-term strategic development and master plan. This position plays a key role in attracting new customers and partners, strengthening existing relationships, and ensuring London Oxford Airport continues to grow as a leading business aviation and aerospace hub. In addition, the Business Development Manager supports and assists the team at the London Heliport to market, drive and expand the use of the facilities, both airside and landside, by the rotary market.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Aviation & Commercial Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities across business aviation, general aviation, maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO), training, and aviation support services. Attract new aviation customers including operators, FBO users, maintenance organisations, training organisations, and aerospace-related businesses. Develop commercial propositions for hangarage, office space, apron use, and aviation facilities. Support the development of non-scheduled and specialist aviation activity aligned with airport capability and capacity.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for existing and prospective aviation and commercial tenants. Build and maintain strong relationships with operators, tenants, local businesses, aviation partners, and industry stakeholders. Liaise with local authorities, developers, and community stakeholders to support airport growth and planning objectives.
  • Strategy & Growth Planning: Support delivery of London Oxford Airport’s long‑term business strategy and master plan. Identify opportunities to enhance yield from airport assets, facilities, and land holdings. Contribute to feasibility studies, business cases, and investment proposals for new developments.
  • Commercial Negotiation & Contracts: Lead or support negotiations for leases, licences, and commercial agreements. Work closely with legal and finance teams to ensure contracts are commercially robust and compliant. Monitor contract performance and ensure revenue and utilisation targets are achieved.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting: Monitor market trends in business aviation, GA, training, and aerospace sectors. Analyse customer demand and competitor activity to inform development decisions. Prepare reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management.
  • Representation & Marketing Support: Represent London Oxford Airport at industry events, exhibitions, and networking forums. Support marketing initiatives to promote the airport’s facilities and commercial offerings.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within the aviation sector, with a strong track record in business development, commercial property, or infrastructure environments
  • Proven experience working with aviation operators, tenants, or within regulated environments, ideally involving complex commercial transactions
  • Solid understanding of airport operations and safety frameworks is highly desirable
  • Flexible and willing to attend occasional evening and weekend events to support stakeholder engagement and industry presence
  • Ability to obtain and maintain airside security clearance
  • Willingness to maintain a visible, on‑site presence at London Oxford Airport, with regular travel to London Heliport
