The advertised role will require working as part of the Transport Services team co-ordinating three work development programmes for the LLCS and HEB teams. The HEB is currently being rebranded and will soon be known as the Urgent Care Badge (UCB). The LLCS controls the movement of heavy goods vehicles over 18 tonnes. It operates at night and at weekends on specific roads in London, helping to minimise noise pollution. The scheme has been in operation since 1985 and was decriminalised in 2004.
Following a detailed report commissioned by London Councils into the current level of on-street LLCS signage, London Councils is looking for an officer to manage the signs upgrade program with boroughs, Transport for London (TfL) and stakeholders to ensure that signs advising of the controls are installed, upgraded or replaced. The LLCS team is also seeking the officer to oversee the continued phased installation of Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) enforcement cameras at key locations with our contractors. This will require developing close working relationships with both internal and external officers including those at boroughs, TfL, and the private sector.
The HEB scheme allows people who deliver primary healthcare to attend medical emergencies in patients' homes by providing a dedicated parking badge. All London Boroughs have agreed to the scheme. London Councils is currently working with a new external partner to finalise the development of a new interactive Case Management System (CMS) which will be launched following the introduction of the new UCB. London Councils is looking for an officer to help manage these processes and relationships as well as managing the final aspects of the rebrand and monitor future progress.
The Ideal Candidate
For these roles, we are looking for a hardworking and dedicated individual to join our small Transport Services team to undertake this work and assist the Head of Transport and Traffic Management with other policy and project work. The candidate should be self-motivated, a quick learner and able to communicate and form positive relationships with a variety of key stakeholders. The candidate will have the ability to work to strict deadlines, using their own initiative to undertake project management tasks including effective borough and key stakeholder communications.
