Education/Qualifications
- Registered Midwife
- First level degree in related healthcare discipline or substantial experiential equivalence
- Evidence of continual professional development
- Completion of relevant cultural safety training in relation to anti-racism, LGBT+ issues, and/or disability issues
Desirable criteria
- Professional Midwifery Advocate
- Leadership qualifications and/or experience
- Post-graduate management/leadership qualification or equivalent level of knowledge gained through experience
Knowledge & Experience
- Substantial post-registration experience
- Experience working with a diverse group of women
- Evidence of multidisciplinary working
- Good understanding of MBRACE-UK report
- In-depth understanding of the national maternity safety agenda
- Up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge of current professional issues related to marginalized women and health inequalities
- Up-to-date and evidence-based knowledge of current clinical and professional issues
Desirable criteria
- In-depth understanding of cultural awareness, cultural competency, and unconscious bias
