Are you a confident and motivated Band 5 or an emerging Band 6 Physiotherapist interested in developing new clinical and managerial skills within an acute setting? An excellent and exciting opportunity has arisen to work with an innovative and dynamic team of therapists within London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated and forward-thinking physiotherapist to join our diverse team and further develop specialist skills through various rotations.

This post is rotational across MSK, rheumatology (NPH), and orthopaedics at Northwick Park, Ealing, and Central Middlesex Hospitals. The post holder should be a qualified Physiotherapist with at least 18 months of experience in the physiotherapy specialty. Candidates should have completed at least two specialist musculoskeletal rotations, ideally including an Orthopaedic inpatient rotation. We would consider a competency-based developmental position for a Band 5 working towards a Band 6 role. The individual should have been qualified for at least one year and completed one rotation in MSK.

You will have opportunities to participate in projects within the MSK and Orthopaedic services and contribute to service development. The role involves managing a busy, variable caseload in outpatient settings, including referrals from Consultants and GPs, hydrotherapy, and Community Clinics. Inpatient cover will involve working with both elective and trauma caseloads. One rotation involves early supported discharge of NWB orthopaedic patients and outpatient work.

The role includes supervisory responsibilities for a Band 5 physiotherapist and students, providing appraisals, teaching, and clinical support. There are also opportunities linked to Band 7 line managers to develop managerial and leadership skills. Our department offers excellent in-service training, and the MSK Therapies team benefits from strong strategic and clinical leadership to support high-quality patient care.

Additionally, you will be expected to work one weekend in five as part of our MSK/Orthopaedic weekend service, excluding respiratory on-call duties. The Therapy Department is highly regarded within the Trust and encourages the development of clinical, teaching, and managerial skills according to individual CPD needs. Support and supervision are provided by experienced therapists. Our department offers a wide range of training opportunities, and you will have the chance to participate in ongoing projects.
