Job overview

Looking for Advanced Clinical Practitioners who have a background in Emergency Medicine to work in any of two A&E departments at Northwick Park and Ealing Hospitals.

This role is for those who are completing their MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice, whilst in a trainee ACP post working in Emergency Medicine and meet the requirements for progression into a qualified post. They must have completed the second year of the master\’s programme and have demonstrable experience of supernumerary time in Emergency Medicine, where they have demonstrated their competence to progress into the qualified ACP post.

Main duties of the job

This role will:
• Report to the Lead Consultant for the ACP programme acting as an expert team member for the effective delivery of the Advanced / Emergency Care Practitioner service.
• Provide the core ACP role which is to assess patients with undifferentiated problems with appropriate supervision (Royal College of Emergency Medicine 2015).
• Work within the Junior Doctor Rota and participate in departmental teaching programme.
• Integrate with multi-professional teams, educationalists and site-specific clinical nurse specialists to deliver patient-centred care.
• Participate and/or lead clinical research which will guide practice developments and raise awareness of the needs of the patient and family with Emergencies.
• Ensure that Clinical Governance standards are fully met including supporting the directorate lead for clinical governance where appropriate.

  • Master\’s award – MSc in Advance Care Practice in Emergency / Urgent Care
  • Registered Independent Non-Medical Prescriber
  • ALS (RCUK) Provider
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable criteria

  • ALS/APLS/ETC instructor
  • APLS/ETC provider
  • Teaching qualification e.g. Mentorship Course
  • RCEM Credentialed
