Please note: This is an 18 month fixed term contract. We’re looking for a commercially savvy Senior Advertising & Partnerships Executive to join our fast‑paced team at LNER. This is a key role within the Advertising and Partnerships function, supporting the delivery of high‑impact campaigns across digital channels and engaging brand partnerships. Reporting to the Digital Campaign Manager and working closely with the Brand Partnerships Lead, you’ll lead or support the development and execution of digital advertising that tackles core business challenges, boosting customer journeys and revenue.

You’ll be hands‑on with digital advertising within multi‑channel campaigns, performance marketing and creative development. You’ll also support in the delivery of brand partnership activity, including taking the lead on some of our high‑profile collaborations with Destination Marketing Organisations. You’ll manage day‑to‑day relationships with our agency partners, oversee campaign planning and delivery, and apply strong creative judgement and digital media understanding to ensure our campaigns are both effective and on‑brand. With a sharp eye on ROI, you’ll also support performance tracking and budget management, including raising POs and monitoring spend.

Within this role you’ll also be involved in:

  • Support on the delivery of digital advertising campaigns across channels such as Paid Social, Online video and Display, from brief to post‑campaign reporting.
  • Manage day‑to‑day campaign development, coordinating stakeholders and applying feedback to ensure smooth execution.
  • Identify and/or lead on tactical campaign opportunities that resonate with audiences, drive value or tackle business challenges.
  • Select and manage the right mix of marketing channels to meet campaign objectives, working across predominantly digital and on occasion offline platforms when required.
  • Build strong relationships with creative and media agencies for role’s workstreams, ensuring high‑quality output and efficient use of budgets.
  • Monitor campaign performance against KPIs, optimising in‑flight activity and applying learnings for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure all campaigns align with brand vision and tone of voice, maintaining consistency across channels.
  • Administration duties to support the day to day running of the advertising & partnerships team including diary co‑ordination for key meetings.
  • Use customer insights, data, and trends to inform campaign planning and ensure compliance with Advertising Standards.
  • Support the Brand Partnerships Lead on key initiatives, including asset creation and on occasion, event delivery.
  • Take the lead in the planning and delivery of some of our brand partnerships, including activity with Destination Management Organisations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners across various levels and functions to gain project buy in & campaign support cross channels.

Skills & experience:

  • Demonstratable experience in above the line (paid for) campaign or marketing roles, ideally within transport, retail, or service sectors.
  • Strong grasp of digital advertising channels, emerging trends, and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, YouGov Brand Tracking).
  • Proven project management and multitasking ability, with immaculate attention to detail.
  • Commercially minded, with a focus on driving results and ROI from marketing activity.
  • Creative thinker with a strong balance of flair, analysis, and strategic judgement.
  • Motivated team player who thrives in cross‑functional environments and takes ownership to deliver efficiently.
  • Experience managing external agencies and suppliers.
  • Demonstrated experience managing partnerships activity from strategy to execution.
