As an Experience Host, you'll help visitors feel welcome, confident and inspired from the moment they arrive.
You'll bring London's stories to life through conversations, support exhibitions, events and immersive experiences, and help create memorable experiences for every visitor.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of the team opening London Museum Smithfield.
As one of our first Experience Hosts, you'll welcome the very first visitors, help shape the visitor experience and play a key role in bringing a landmark new museum to life.
As part of the application process, you will be asked to select which Experience Host role you would like to apply for.
Please read the information below carefully before making your choice.
- We're recruiting for two types of Experience Host roles at London Museum Smithfield:
- Permanent Experience Hosts work a set weekly pattern with guaranteed contracted hours. Both full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
- Casual Experience Hosts work flexibly based on the needs of the Museum. There are no guaranteed hours or set working patterns, and shifts are offered when available.
You don't need previous museum or customer service experience.
We're looking for people who are warm, curious and enjoy helping others.
You'll be confident talking to people from all walks of life, stay calm when things change, and enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an assessment day during the weeks commencing 31 August and 7 September.
Assessment days will include a mixture of individual and group activities designed to help us understand your skills, strengths and how you demonstrate our museum behaviours.
