As a Hotel Maintenance Engineer, you’ll be the unseen hero behind the velvet curtain, keeping our hotel running flawlessly day and night. From guest rooms dripping in decadence to back-of-house systems that must never miss a beat, you’ll ensure everything works exactly as it should beautifully, safely, and without fuss.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Keeping the building, bedrooms, and back-of-house areas operating at House of Gods standards immaculate, seamless, and guest-ready at all times.
- Carrying out preventive maintenance across electrical, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, and life-safety systems.
- Responding swiftly and discreetly to maintenance issues reported by guests or colleagues because magic should never feel interrupted.
- Diagnosing faults, fixing what you can, and escalating when needed with clear communication to the Maintenance Manager.
- Working closely with Housekeeping and Front Office to ensure guests never notice the work only the perfection.
- Supporting energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives without compromising luxury.
- Keeping accurate records of works completed, inspections, and equipment servicing.
- Playing a key role in refurbishments, upgrades, and improvement projects as we continue to evolve our spaces.
- Following all health, safety, and security procedures, using PPE and safe systems of work at all times.
What We’re Looking For
- 2–4 years’ experience in general maintenance, ideally within a hotel, hospitality, or high-end commercial environment.
- Strong, hands-on knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- A natural problem-solver who thrives under pressure and takes pride in getting things right first time.
- Comfortable reading technical manuals, drawings, and schematics.
- Physically fit and confident working with tools, ladders, and access equipment.
- Calm, professional, and discreet — especially when working around guests.
- Flexible with shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays; hospitality never sleeps.
Bonus Points If You Have
- A trade qualification or certification in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or similar.
- Previous experience in luxury or lifestyle hotels.
- Basic computer skills for maintenance systems, reporting, and email.

This is a hands-on role in a live hotel environment. Expect to be on your feet, moving between glamorous guest spaces and practical plant rooms, indoors and outdoors, in all seasons.
