- This role has a flexible start time however we would be looking for someone who can start as soon as possible.
- Availability to volunteer on the day of the event (Saturday 5th July) is essential.
- This role carries an average volunteer time of 6 - 8 hours per week.

Your Role
In this hands-on role as the Deputy Director: Recruitment and Process within People & Culture at Pride in London, you'll champion our vibrant volunteer community while overseeing our recruitment, onboarding, and HR functions. Leading a team of volunteer specialists, you'll develop strategic approaches to attract, welcome, and support everyone within Pride in London, ensuring our organisational values are embedded in everything we do. This pivotal position directly contributes to creating an inclusive and dynamic Pride community.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead our recruitment strategy, overseeing both All Year Round and On the Day recruitment teams to ensure we attract diverse talent aligned with our values.
- Develop and implement streamlined onboarding processes that welcome volunteers effectively and set them up for success from day one.
- Oversee the HR & Policy Advisor to establish best practices in volunteer management, ensuring compliance and creating a supportive framework.
- Champion process improvements across the volunteer journey, from application through to exit, creating consistent and positive experiences.
- Build effective systems to measure volunteer satisfaction and engagement, using insights to continuously enhance our approach.
- Support both staff and volunteers with clear guidance, resources, and development opportunities that empower them in their roles.
- Ensure our organisational values are embedded in all recruitment and people processes, creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.
- Deputise for the Director of People & Culture as required.
What you'll bring to Pride in London
- Experience in developing and implementing recruitment strategies for large groups of volunteers (Essential)
- Strong understanding of onboarding processes and best practices for volunteer engagement (Essential)
- Knowledge of HR policies and procedures within a volunteer organisation (Desirable)
- Proven track record in process improvement and systems development (Essential)
- Experience managing teams or coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously (Essential)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders (Essential)
- Experience with volunteer management software or recruitment platforms (Desirable)
- Previous experience in coordinating large-scale event volunteer recruitment (Desirable)
