Hours: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week (0.50 teaching / 0.50 leadership remission)

As a Grade 2 Ofsted provider delivering creative, personalised and industry‑informed study programmes for young people across London and the Southeast, we are seeking an Assistant Principal to support curriculum delivery and learner success across our Croydon, Brighton and Bexhill campuses. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and committed education professional ready to take the next step into leadership while maintaining strong links to teaching and learning practice.

Working closely with campus Vice Principals and the wider curriculum leadership team, you will play a key role in ensuring high‑quality teaching, strong learner outcomes and an inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the day‑to‑day delivery of teaching, learning and assessment across study programmes
  • Monitor learner attendance and coordinate effective intervention strategies
  • Support behaviour processes to maintain a positive learning culture
  • Lead Internal Verification (IV) and standardisation activity within vocational provision
  • Work with Vice Principals on curriculum intent, sequencing and implementation
  • Support awarding body processes including registrations and compliance (e.g. RSL)
  • Participate in lesson observations to support quality improvement
  • Provide coaching and wellbeing support through 1:1 meetings with teaching staff
  • Support learner recruitment activity including open events and course discussions
  • Contribute to improving learner achievement and progression outcomes
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion across the learner experience

What We’re Looking For

  • Degree‑level qualification (essential)
  • Teaching qualification (PGCE, CertEd, DET or equivalent) or working towards
  • Experience supporting quality assurance and standardisation processes
  • Experience working with awarding body requirements and EQA expectations
  • Track record of improving learner outcomes and achievement
  • Strong communication, coaching and organisational skills
  • Confidence using data to support improvement planning
  • Commitment to inclusive education and learner‑centered practice

Desirable

  • Assessor / Verifier qualifications (TAQA / IQA)
  • Experience mentoring teaching staff
  • Experience supporting curriculum planning and sequencing
