Our services include accredited advice and support, community wellbeing activities, and an extensive programme of Irish arts, culture and education. Our venue also comprises a licensed bar and shop, as well as private hire spaces to support the work of our charity.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the London Irish Centre at a key moment for our Fundraising and Marketing function. In recent years, the Fundraising team has achieved strong and consistent growth, expanding income streams across challenge events, corporate partnerships, individual giving, legacy fundraising, and community-focused activity. This role will play a central part in building on that progress and helping the LIC reach its income goals.

As our Fundraising and Marketing Officer, you will take ownership of several core fundraising initiatives with support and guidance from the Head of Fundraising and Marketing. You will have the opportunity to shape and grow key income streams, including challenge events, monthly giving, and legacy fundraising. You will also contribute to the delivery of marketing activity, particularly through e‐marketing and stewardship communications that help strengthen our relationships with supporters.

In addition to the fundraising areas you will lead, you will work closely with the Head of Fundraising and Marketing across our wider portfolio. This includes supporting the delivery of fundraising events, contributing to the development of our corporate partnership programme, and playing a role in major fundraising campaigns such as our annual Christmas and St. Patrick's appeals.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working across a range of activities, thrives in a fast‐moving environment, and is motivated by meeting targets and seeing the impact of their work. It offers genuine room for growth, including opportunities to represent the charity at networking events, build relationships with donors and partners, and contribute to shaping the future of fundraising at the London Irish Centre.

About You

You are an ambitious, motivated fundraising professional who thrives on hitting targets and making a real difference. You enjoy working across multiple areas, from events to donor stewardship, and are excited by the opportunity to grow your skills and take on a visible, impactful role.

Required Skills

  • Experience in fundraising, marketing, or a related role, ideally with at least some exposure to managing events or donor programmes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to write compelling content for donors and supporters
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • A proactive, self‐starter attitude, balanced with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
  • A genuine interest in the mission of the London Irish Centre and enthusiasm for helping us grow our impact

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working on challenge events, monthly giving, or legacy fundraising programmes
  • Confidence using tools such as Donorfy CRM, Mailchimp, Google Analytics, WordPress, and Canva
  • Experience with data reporting and analysis to inform strategy and decision‐making
  • Experience representing an organisation at events or in networking environments

Key Areas of Responsibility

Fundraising and Development

  • Take ownership of the LIC's Challenge Events 2026 fundraising programme, including the London Marathon, Hackney Half, London Landmarks, and The Big Half. Steward around 50 runners, supporting them to meet and exceed their fundraising targets.
  • Grow and develop the monthly giving programme with the support of the Head of Fundraising and Marketing, including designing campaigns, stewarding donors, and increasing uptake.
  • Lead on launching the legacy fundraising arm in partnership with a specialist legacy provider, supporting communications and donor engagement for this area.
  • Conduct research and outreach to identify new corporate and individual prospects, building relationships that result in donations and partnerships.
  • Support the Head of Fundraising and Marketing in delivering activity across other income streams, including one‐off appeals, events, and campaigns.
  • Ensure all fundraising activity is recorded, tracked, and analysed in our CRM system, maintaining strong data processes and supporting monthly reporting.

Marketing and Communications Support

  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Manager to support e‐marketing activity, including writing stewardship content for newsletters, monthly donors, and other campaigns.
  • Contribute to other marketing communications activities as required, ensuring brand consistency and high‐quality outputs.
  • Pull and analyse digital marketing reports to support review and planning with the fundraising and marketing teams.

General Responsibilities

  • Help maintain accurate and up‐to‐date data in the CRM system, generating reports to track income and supporter engagement.
  • Build strong relationships across the charity to ensure fundraising and marketing activity is collaborative and effective.
  • Represent the charity externally at events and networking opportunities with support and guidance from senior staff.
