Join the Risk Management team of a leading Lloyd’s specialty insurer and gain hands‑on experience across all aspects of risk management, working directly with the Risk Manager, Head of Risk Management and Chief Risk Officer.

You’ll support key risk activities including risk reporting, risk assessments, risk appetite monitoring, incident management, ORSA and stress testing, while building a broad understanding of how a Lloyd’s insurer operates.

To assist with administrative tasks of both an underwriting and operational nature.

To provide underwriting support and assistance to the underwriters and to create and maintain syndicate records.

Authority Level

No authority to accept risks or settle claims on behalf of the syndicate.

  • Assisting underwriters with their underwriting at the box in Lloyd’s, in the office or on Teams
  • Pre‑underwriting risk data analysis
  • Creation and monitoring of the underwriting reports
  • Mapping of data and assisting with model development
  • Assisting with all online trading platforms
  • Income and performance monitoring on large accounts
  • Liaising with brokers and clients as necessary on live risks and quotes
  • Managing risk records
  • Entry of risk data into underwriting system
  • Managing underwriter workflows
  • Responsibility for pre and post bind contract quality assurance
  • Entry of aggregate data onto the appropriate systems
  • Management of filing and data storage
  • Managing credit control
  • Creation and monitoring of renewal list report
  • Slip copying and scanning
  • Ad hoc jobs as required
  • Accuracy

Able to input data and maintain records with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

IT Capability

Needs to be familiar and competent with various software and I. T. packages including Microsoft Office

Role Summary and Purpose

Support the London Market Underwriting Operations team in driving efficiencies and best practices throughout the Underwriting process, challenge how the business operates today and assist in developing systems, processes, and procedures to support the growth of Arch across all platforms.

This successful candidate will complete the Level 3 Financial Services Administrator apprenticeship, gaining their Certificate Level CII qualification as part of this role.

  • Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Conducting regular data quality checks and basic audits of underwriting data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Logging queries received from both internal and external customers, investigating data discrepancies and supporting timely resolution.
  • Maintaining and updating operational procedure documents.
  • Assisting with reporting activities, such as analysing weekly or monthly processing statistics.
  • Collaborating with onshore, offshore and cross functional teams on various tasks and projects.
  • Other ad hoc admin tasks from time to time.
